The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to give people who live and/or work in the City of Mt. Juliet an opportunity to learn first-hand about the inner-workings of the Mt. Juliet Police Department.

Police and civilian personnel will present lectures and demonstrations in order to give Citizen Police Academy participants an understanding of the Department's mission, practices, and operations. The Academy is not being held to train citizens as police officers or to give citizens police authority of any kind.

Applicants

The Department will consider applicants who meet the following requirements:

  • Live, work or volunteer in the City of Mt. Juliet
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Willing to sign a Waiver of Liability
  • No felony convictions
  • No domestic violence convictions
  • No significant or recent misdemeanor convictions.
