| The City of Mt. Juliet is continuing to grow everyday, and there is an ever-increasing demand for our Criminal Investigations Division (CID) to become more versatile in our personnel as well as in our investigations. The most important asset in our ability as CID is our dedication towards maintaining the fullest integrity, highest professional commitment and cooperative interaction with the citizens of Mt. Juliet. The detectives who comprise our unit interact with our Patrol Division as well as all other state agencies and many federal agencies converging a wide spectrum of investigations. The investigations range from conducting follow-up assistance to quickly pursuing investigations in such things as sexual assaults, death's, robberies, burglaries, thefts, narcotics, and assortment of other felonies.
The division has access to other law enforcement agencies in oder to maintain effective criminal investigations. Agencies such as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Regional Organized Crime Information Center, are utilized when needed to assist in various investigations. In addition, an Evidence & Property unit is assigned to this unit. The Evidence & Property unit is responsible for the handling, storage, safe keeping, and disposal of the evidence and property confiscated by officers and detectives. The number one priority with Evidence and Property unit is to maintain the best integrity possible with each item of evidence and it's Chain of Custody. Evidence & Property is also responsible for submitting DNA, narcotics, and fingerprint evidence to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation crime lab for identification purposes. |
